Welcome to Year 2
All our classes are named after famous artists. Year 2 classes are
2 Van Gogh, after the Dutch artist Vincent Van Gogh, and 2 Picasso, after the Spanish artist Pablo Picasso. Our Year 2 teachers are Mr Brooksbank, Miss Gordine and Miss Poole.
This year children will study a range of topics with a History and Geography focus. These include Queen Victoria, The World, The Dark & The Great Fire of London.
Spring Term Two
This half-term children will have a History focus to their learning with their topic centred around 'The Great Fire of London'. Children will write a diary entry, a newspaper report and publish a poem. We are also excited to take part in a Great Fire of London themed trip. Our learning will be guided using an illustrated history of the Great Fire.
In Maths, we will focus on the topic of measurement, including addition and subtraction problems involving length and height and our times table focus will be the four times table. Take a look at the attached Maths yearly overview to see all the topics we will cover this year.
