Our Year Groups

Welcome to Year 2

Our classes are 2 Spain and 2 France.

This half term, our topic is The Great Fire of London.

In English, we will be reading 'The Great Fire of London' by Emma Adams and James Weston Lewis and 'Toby and the Great Fire of London' by Margaret Nash and Jane Cope. We will be writing newspaper report, diary entries and poems about the events of the Great Fire.

We are building reading comprehension skills in daily reading sessions based around factual texts on the Great Fire of London, as well as revising and securing our phonic knowledge daily.

In Foundation, we are learning about the Great Fire of London and London in 1666 in History. In Science, we will be exploring the properties of different materials. In Art, we will be focusing on Vincent Van Gogh and practising painting skills.

In Maths, we are finishing off our learning about multiplication and division, and moving on to measure.
