This week children have been visiting our STEM Fair and have enjoyed learning all things science-related. Many thanks to Miss Rozier for setting this up for us. Y1&2 attended a trip to the Royal Festival Hall to see and engage with a concert delivered by the London Philharmonic Orchestra and 6 Leopold engaged in a medical and first aid workshop in school delivered by practitioners from King’s College. Many thanks for sending in Easter Egg donations for our tombolas in exchange for non-uniform. If you haven’t and would like to, you can always send one in next week instead.

Our Collective Worship theme continues with the Gospel according to Mark, discussing Jesus’s life in the lead up to Easter. This week we’ve looked at the transfiguration, Jesus & the children, and how we can serve others.

Welcome to World Book Day at St James! We hope you enjoy dressing as your favourite book character and seeing how many you can identify from the outfits of your friends and teachers.  Illustrator and Author Clara Vulliamy will be taking a whole school assembly.

We hope you have a wonderful time celebrating the joy of reading in whatever form it might take, from fantastic stories to exciting factual accounts, finding out information from the past and discovering new ideas for the future, providing laughter and helping to understand the experiences of others, from being engrossed in a story alone or sharing it with family and friends.

Don't forget to download your WBD £1 voucher to spend at your local bookshop which is attached below, together with some ideas and resources to help you explore, create and understand the power of storytelling.

Sometimes it is difficult to set digital boundaries about amount of use, what is suitable and how we should all behave online. Agreeing ground rules for devices in and out of the home can help to have everyone working from the same page. Use the template we have attached below from internetmatters.org to help your family agree what is right for you.

internetmatters.org produces many useful resources and family-friendly information around internet safety. Their Layer Up for Online Safety sheets attached at the bottom of this page explain simple ways you can use safety settings to support children's online safety.

Here's a message to our St James' community from Jessica Ennis-Hill as we start our Tesco Stronger Starts Campaign. Just ask for the blue tokens at the Tesco till when you finish your shopping and pop them in the St James' box  to help us gain funding for school projects.
