Latest Newsletter - Friday 3rd July 2026
Another busy week as we rapidly approach the long summer holidays! Millwall sessions continue with Y5; swimming lessons have continued; Y1 attended a Paddington experience trip and KS1 all attended the BST Festival trip to Hyde Park. Y5 also had a super topic trip to the British Museum. We’ve welcomed our new Reception children for September, along with parents, to have introductory meetings with Miss Molly.
Our Collective Worship theme for this week has seen us continue to explore our school vision of ‘Let your light shine’ and our school aims and values with the children. This week – ‘Showing kindness and respect’.
Another timely reminder to send in water bottles and apply sun cream as we like to learn outside whenever possible and next week is looking warm again.

Events for the coming week
Monday 6th:
- Y5 continue sessions with Millwall for ‘Joy of Movement’
sports each week – PE KITS ON ADDITIONAL DAY; - 5 Turner and Y6 swimming lessons each Monday
at Downside Fisher – SWIMMING KITS PLEASE; - FINAL DAY of Monday enrichment clubs after school –
these finish at 16:15 (Alexis St) and 16:30 (OJR).
Tuesday 7th:
- Y3, 4 and Cezanne class Summer trip to
British Summer Time Festival, Hyde Park; - Girls’ senior football match after school (invitation).
Wednesday 8th:
- Reception and Year 1 Art and Story-telling workshops with
Ivana from @storying_space as part of the Bermondsey
Puppet and Story-telling festival; - Y5&6 Production in the OJR Hall. 14:00 & 18:00.
Thursday 9th:
- Y5&6 Production in the OJR Hall. 14:00 & 18:00.
Friday 10th:
- Y6 attending their Leavers’ Service with
Southwark Diocesan Board Schools in Southwark Cathedral.
