Here at St James we are passionately committed to healthy eating to ensure full brain use and energy whilst at school.
The school lunches are prepared by our staff with natural ingredients bought locally as much as possible. Sharon Fox oversees both our kitchens and a three week menu is on our website. You are welcome to pop in for a free school lunch at any time. All children’s school lunches are provided free of charge by Southwark. However there are forms for those families that are entitled to free school meals under the benefit system and these need to be filled in by qualifying families in order for the school to claim additional budget. If you are in receipt of Job Seekers Allowance, Child Tax Credit or Income Support and you think you might be able to claim for a free school meals please do let us know and Carolyn Brenta our Parent Support Worker will help you to fill in the forms.
Every child gets fruit during morning break. Reception and Nursery also have a Snack Cart where they prepare and choose food throughout the day.
