  • Latest Newsletter - Friday 26 April 2024

    Published 25/04/24

A fairly succinct newsletter this week! Children continue to impress – Shakespeare and Science learning has been terrific! Y5 have done really well with their Cycle Confident sessions; swimming lessons continue to be enjoyed by all; Violin and Recorder lessons continue to show growing confidence and musicality; Y4 had an amazing trip to the Unicorn Theatre; Nursery and Reception had super ‘Beep, Beep’ road safety sessions; library visits continue and Y5 are having story-telling sessions at Alexis St. Thanks to all who attended our Parents’ Evenings the last two weeks – these were really positive and very well-attended.

Our Collective Worship theme has continued with the events which took place after Easter and Jesus’s resurrection. Next week we’ll continue to look at some more Old Testament people in the form of Samuel, David & Goliath and Saul.

Do see next week’s events listed below and also the dates letter as usual with more dates and events added up until the end of the year including an Open Evening in June and Nursery and Reception end of year events in July.

As always, we’re wishing you, your families, and our whole community
    a lovely, hopefully Spring-like, weekend,

God bless, from the St. James’ team

It’s great to see all the children again after the Easter holidays and hear about all the lovely things you and your families have been doing. Learning for the Summer term has started really well with English work based around Shakespeare texts – these have been particularly well received – and Geography learning in the afternoons. 1 Italy have been to Pizza Express for Food Technology and Maths learning; KS2 children took part in a terrific Golf afternoon; Geography field trips have been attended locally and all children took part in our ‘Welcome Back’ Ascension service. Y5&6 had a Medical/Asthma workshop and were really responsive to the nursing team.
Our Collective Worship theme continues with the events which took place after Easter and Jesus’s resurrection next week.

Our full newsletter is attached below together with our updated Diary Dates sheet and our updated Whole School Food Policy. A summary of next week's events is listed below.

As always, we’re wishing you, your families,
