This term the children have chose to read the excellent Varjak Paw as their main text. Our topic will be Fierce Creatures! Please find a letter with some ideas for home-school projects at the bottom of this webpage.

In Maths, we will be learning about Shape and Space, Money and Perimeter. We have a busy half term kicking off with Healthy Schools week- please find a letter with some ideas for half term at the bottom of this webpage! We will be finishing our final full week with our learning dedicated to 'Spirited Art'. After a great week looking at Tree by Britta Teckentrup in January, Key Stage 2 will look at Bee, by the same author too. Lastly, the final round of assessments will also take place this half term. Please see below for a summary of key dates.

Healthy Schools Week: Monday 4th - Friday 8th June.

Assessment Week: Monday 25th - Friday 29th June.

Parents' Evening (Key Stage 2): Wednesday 27th June

Sports Day: Thursday 28th June

Whole school 'Bee' week: Monday 2nd - Friday 6th July.

Whole school 'Spirited Art week:  Monday 9th - Friday 13th July.

Break up for summer holidays: Wednesday 18th July, 13:30 at Alexis Street and 13:15 at Old Jamaica Road.

As part of their homework, please ensure your child reads every day and that it is noted in their reading journal. This is increasingly important as the demands of the curriculum increase throughout Key Stage 2, with children expected to sustain reading over longer and longer pieces of text.

3 Sweden will have PE on Monday mornings.

3 Finland will have PE on Tuesday afternoons.

3 Norway will have PE on Friday afternoons.

3 Denmark will have PE on Monday afternoons.

Weekly Homework
Spellings: 10 core spellings and 10 extension spellings will be handed out each Friday and tested the following Friday.

An exercise sheet handed out each Friday and to be returned by the following Wednesday. Mathletics tasks will also be set on Fridays (please note, this is optional).

We welcome parents and carers to accompany us on trips. Please mention it at least two days in advance to your child's class teacher if at all possible, in order for us to arrange staffing.

We endeavour to give as much notice as possible for trips, but in some cases we are offered tickets to other exciting opportunities at the last minute. Your understanding is appreciated.
