Reading
Please read at home with your child every day and write a comment in the home contact book. The children will take home a banded book from the school's reading scheme and a pack of word cards to learn. Your child will keep the same book for a week so please use that time to ask a range of comprehension questions. As your child becomes more familiar with the book, encourage your child to read with greater fluency and expression.

Writing

Please encourage your child to write at home. If you would like to see the things your child needs to use in his/her writing then see the document below. Please bring your brilliant work in to school so that we can mark it and put it on display.

Spellings
Each week the children will bring home a list of 10 spellings to learn for the spelling test on Friday. These lists contain spelling patterns that the children need to learn in Year 2. There are 10 optional spellings if the children would like an extra challenge!

PE

This term Greece/Switzerland/Austria have swimming every Monday.  The children should come into school in normal school uniform and change into their PE kits after lunch.
